Preston Nelson is a Russian Spy.
Just kidding – I am not a Russian spy.
But I do speak Russian, and some French, Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin Chinese, and, of course, English too. Languages fascinate me, and people I’ve met abroad always love meeting an American who speaks their own language. Traveling and meeting different people widens perspective, and can even teach us more about ourselves and our own nation.
In 2014, I was in China working in the fashion industry, alongside people from all over the world, Russians, Ukrainians, Italians, Spaniards, French people, the Dutch, Georgians, Israelis, Mexicans, Brazilians, Australians, Canadians, and even some other Americans. It was a wild experience!
American media, in the years leading up to then was constant on the “Let’s arm the Syrian rebels!” bandwagon. “Moderate Syrian Rebels” could have been the name of Washington’s favorite new emo band, but reality was much more sinister. As Europeans personally felt the waves coming from Syria’s refugee crisis, many of my friends asked me “Why is your government helping the terrorists?!”
Washington insiders new then that the rebels were not so moderate. They knew that they were mostly affiliated with Al Qaeda. As usual, they lied to us in order to get what they wanted. A declassified Defense Intelligence Report proves that Washington knew it was creating an Islamic State, at least as early as 2012… “Islamic State” did not become a household term until 2014. Yes, your tax dollars armed and trained terrorists, started a civil war, and claimed the lives of hundreds of thousands of people, and this stuff is nothing new for Washington.
Will Barack Obama ever face justice for knowingly arming our terrorist enemies? Will George Bush ever answer for his hiding the truth about his friends in the Saudi Arabian government who planned and executed the attacks on 9/11? Why did both Bush and Obama both fight so hard against the declassification of those notorious 28 pages. of the 9/11 report? It might be the biggest bipartisan cover up of our time.
Sorry, I got side-tracked.
Preston Nelson is a 30 year old Information Technology professional, amateur linguist, and inventor who hates what he sees happening in his government.
Nelson was raised, first as a Christian, and second as a Republican. He has since forsaken the “republican” label, but he clings to his faith, and considers Christian morals as the foundation of his opposition to the Republicrat establishment.
As a child, Nelson cheered when George Bush went after those bad guys in Iraq and Afghanistan, but as an adolescent, he saw through Bush’s war lies, considered politics hopeless, and stopped paying attention.
As a young man, Nelson stumbled across the Libertarian Party (thanks to Ron Paul.) Learning that, compared to the D and R parties, Libertarians in Illinois required 10-times the number of people to sign their petition, just in order to have their names written on the ballot, and further learning that Republican lawyers filed suit against the Libertarian petitions every year in an attempt to nullify them, or at least waste the Libertarians’ time and money in court, Nelson was outraged, and immediately began working in Public Relations for the Libertarian Party of Illinois.
Historically, Libertarian campaigns are a crap shoot, so in 2018, Nelson ran in the Republican Primary against incumbent U.S. Representative Mike Bost. Nelson focused his campaign on 3 issues: Foreign Policy Reform and Bringing Troops Home; Ending Corporate Factory-Farm Subsidies; Monetary Reform to Stop Endless Inflation and Currency Devaluation, and he won 17% of the Republican primary election vote, even while writing “Libertarian” on all of his campaign literature.
This year, Nelson is running Libertarian, in a 2-way race with a incumbent Democrat. His issues remain the same:
- Ending decades-long wars which now only serve to hurt our global standing, while bankrupting the nation to enrich the Military Industrial Complex
- Letting people keep their own money, instead of taxing it to give to big agribusinesses which produce unhealthy food
- Boosting the American economy by balancing the budget, and protecting the Dollar from inflation and devaluation.
Beyond politics, Nelson holds a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He is a self-proclaimed health nut who plays guitar, but wants to learn to play the organ and the solo in Boston’s hit song “Smokin’.” Finally, he is an avid collector and user of the world’s most reliable firearms.
